Simpsonville Living
The town of Simpsonville had its beginning as a stage coach stop in the 1820s. Shortly after James Simpson set up a blacksmith shop in the last 1830s,
a post office was set up and the town was officially established and named Simpsonville in 1885.
Real growth in Simpsonville began when Hwy 276 (now the middle portion of I-385) was widened in 1956. Business, industry and new home construction exploded.
Named in 2010 one of the 10 Best Towns for Families by Family Circle Magazine, Simpsonville is located in the rolling hills of South Carolina just 12 miles south of Greenville. New homes in Simpsonville are in demand because it is one of the fastest growing areas in the Southeast and only a 40 minute drive to the Smoky Mountains.
