Building a new Mungo home on your land is easy!
Our On Your Land Housing Specialist will answer all of your questions and walk you through the process so that you are soon living in a new home by America’s Best Builder!
Does Mungo offer turnkey services for building on my land?
We offer a complete turnkey operation and can handle all aspects of the building process: permits, code compliance, lot preparation, engineering, inspections, floor plan selection, financing, home construction, driveway and landscape installation, and selection assistance with an interior designer. Of course, you may already have some of these items covered so they won’t need to be included in our cost.
What is the time frame to build our home?
Depending on the location of your land and the size of the plan you choose, it will take from 120 to 180 days to complete your new home. Our Housing Specialist will assist you to create a reasonable timeline.
What is the cost per square foot?
The cost per square foot will depend on the features already included and the upgraded options you choose. Our base square footage costs range from $58 to $90 a square foot.
What contributes to the final cost of the home?
The total cost of your new home will include the base price, any site evaluation costs, and any upgrades and/or modifications that might have associated costs.
Are there more floor plans available than is what is on your site?
All of the available plans to build on your land do appear on our site. Our award-winning, in-house design team has created more than 65 plans with more than 250 elevations for our current portfolio, so we are confident that you can find a floor plan perfect for you and your family from our current offering.
We already have our own floor plan. Can you build it for us?
Our portfolio of available homes to build on your land includes dozens of floor plans ranging from 1,200 to more than 4,500 square feet in a wide variety of designs, and we will personalize them with options and upgrades to fit your specific needs. From small efficient, single-story homes to estate-sized homes for acreage home sites, we have a plan to suit your needs.
What kind of financing is required?
Building on your land requires either a cash contract or a construction loan. Our preferred lender has great options available, and their rates are very competitive. Our Housing Specialist can consult with you on financing options.
Will you build outside of the coverage area on the map?
Currently we are only building on your land in the Greater Columbia, South Carolina area. Depending on your proximity to Columbia, we may be able to build outside of our current coverage area, although there may be an additional fee for travel. Please consult with our Housing Specialist for more information. (And soon, we hope to be building on your land in all of our markets in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.)
How will I know if the home I like will fit on my land?
During your site evaluation our Housing Specialist will determine if the home you desire will fit on your property.
Can I purchase the lot and the home at the same time?
There are many financing programs available that will provide for the purchase of the land and include funds for construction of your new home. Our Housing Specialist can assist you in finding the program that is right for your needs.
How is the sales price determined?
The sales price will include the base price of the home plus any standard or custom options and any additional adjustments determined from the home site evaluation.
