In 1954, Michael J. Mungo established land development as a viable profession, pioneering street curbs and gutters, uniform street lighting, garages, neighborhood amenities and models in new home communities. Since that time, The Mungo Company has developed tens of thousands of lots across the Midlands and is the largest residential developer in South Carolina.
The Mungo Company is involved in numerous land transactions each year, whether for residential or commercial purposes. Large tracts are often set aside for preservation or green space or donated for recreation, school or church use.
