Mungo Construction, a division of the Mungo Companies, the Carolina’s largest
family-owned home builder is proud to announce its recent recognition at the 2008
PRISM Awards.
Mungo Construction received two awards at the annual event hosted by The Lowcounty
Housing Trust in partnership with the Charleston Trident Homes Builders Association.
Mungo Construction’s homes at Spring Creek at Horizon Village won awards
for “Best Affordable Housing for a Single-family Detached Home” and
for “Best Affordable Housing for a Single-family Attached Home”.
Eligible recipients for the Affordable Housing Category were builders who build
housing for persons or families earning 80% of the area median income. This was the
first year the Affordable Housing Category was added to the annual PRISM awards.
“It’s very exciting to be the first to win awards in this new
category,” stated Thom Chumney, president of Mungo Construction. “Not
only is it an honor for our work to be acknowledged by those in our industry, but
to also be recognized for providing safe, decent, high quality affordable
housing”.
The PRISM Awards program was developed by the Charleston Trident Home Builders
Associations’ Sales and Marketing Council to recognize excellence in the
field of sales, marketing and promotion of new homes. The annual awards recognize
excellence by builders, remodelers, developers and real estate professionals in a
number of different categories. Winners are chosen by judges outside the Charleston area.
The Spring Creek at Horizon Village neighborhood is located in North Charleston and
consists of 130 attached and detached homes for sale.
