We have dozens of floor plans – ranging from 1,600 to more than 5,000 square feet -- in our extensive portfolio or you can bring us your plans. After deciding which plan meets your budget and lifestyle, we determine specific price adjustments through land evaluation, our designer helps you select interior design finishes such as flooring, cabinets, and countertops, then we can assist you with securing financing.

    Does Mungo offer turnkey services for building on my land?
    A

    We offer a complete turnkey operation and can handle all aspects of the building process: permits, code compliance, lot preparation, engineering, inspections, floor plan selection, financing, home construction, driveway and landscape installation, and selection assistance with an interior designer.  Of course, you may already have some of these items covered so they won’t need to be included in our cost.

    What is the time frame to build our home?
    A

    Depending on the location of your land and the size of the plan you choose, it will take from 180 to 210 days to complete your new home.  Together we will create a reasonable timeline.

    What is the cost per square foot?
    A

    The cost per square foot will depend on the features already included and the options you choose.  (For example, some hardwood flooring, appliances, and granite cost more than others.)

    What contributes to the final cost of the home?
    A

    The total cost of your new home will include the base price, any site evaluation costs, floor plan modification, and the specific finishes such as flooring, appliances, light fixtures, etc.

    Where can we see the floor plans?
    A

    You can view all of the available plans to build on your land on our site.  Our award-winning, in-house design team has created dozens of plans, each with multiple exteriors. But it can be overwhelming, so our team can also recommend a plan for you based on your budget and lifestyle.

    What kind of financing is required?
    A

    Building on your land requires either a cash contract or a construction loan. We’re happy to refer you to one of our Lender Partners who can guide you through the financing process.

    Can I purchase the lot and the home at the same time?
    A

    There are financing programs available that will provide for the purchase of the land and include funds for construction of your new home. We will refer you to one of our Lender Partners who can help identify the best loan for your needs, then guide you through the financing process.

    Will you build outside of the Greater Columbia area?
    A

    At this time, we are not building on private land outside of Columbia, South Carolina.

    How will I know if the home I like will fit on my land?
    A

    We will make this determination during the site evaluation process.

Our builder - was AMAZING! He kept us up to date and sent photos of the construction process. He answered all of our emails very quickly and never made us feel like we were an annoyance. I would try and steal him if I owned a construction company!
