So you’ve just chosen the perfect Mungo Home, in a neighborhood you love, surrounded by neighbors you’re going to love, and it’s time to make it your own.  Meet the Designing Women—Diana Byrd and Christine Dadabo.  Uniquely Mungo, this dynamic duo helps make your new house, your home.

Stepping into the Columbia Design Center, I was greeted by the twosome, who are both energetic and enthusiastic, and who really know their business.  Previous sales agents, Diana and Christine adeptly guide new home buyers through the selection process of everything from paint colors to faucets, exterior to electrical options, and everything in between.  And they won’t let you go astray.

Non-commissioned design representatives, they make it their business to help you select the most aesthetically pleasing design elements, while keeping budget and market value in mind. After all, you wouldn’t put Volkswagon accessories on a Mercedes.  Of course you wouldn’t.

Arguably one of the most exciting aspects of the Mungo experience, bringing your new home to life is equally as important.  The Columbia Design Center is a well appointed showroom of sample kitchen and bath areas, and includes everything from exterior trim options to drawer pulls. The neighborhood sales agent insured my plan selection and budget particulars were already at the Design Center when I arrived.

Diana had done her homework by reviewing other houses nearby with the same floor plan I chose.  We’ve all seen streets with duplicates of the same house.  This is one time you don’t want to keep up with the Joneses.  Diana’s job is to make sure that doesn’t happen by helping narrow the scope of exterior options.  The choices are plentiful, so count on the design experts to help you make the right decision for a look you’ll love.

So after choosing from a large selection of exterior components, we were ready to tackle the inside. The showroom’s “dream kitchens” were just that—dreamy.  One of the most helpful aspects of making interior decisions is an area set up to help you view your counter and cabinet options as they will appear together.Using cabinet and counter samples, you can pair options until you come up with exactly the look you’re seeking.

Most agree that this roughly two-hour process helps bring your new home to life, and is as much fun as it is exciting.  So when you have designs on a new house, you can bet Mungo’s Designing Women are the key to making it the envy of the neighborhood!
