Raleigh Team Builds Ramp for Airlie Place NeighborNovember 14, 2022

Bill Barners, 71, is proudly sporting a new Mungo Homes hat and title of “honorary builder!” After requesting some scrap lumber from a jobsite at Airlie Place in Willow Spring, NC recently, Barners explained that he was trying to personally build a wheelchair ramp for his physically-challenged wife. Mungo builders sprang into action, measuring for the ramp, securing donated materials from Contract Lumber and, along with support and other donations, a safe, sturdy ramp was built to code at the Barners’ home. 

Once healthy and active, Mr. Barners now suffers from long-term effects of Covid-19 and struggles to walk and breathe normally, all while caring for his wife whose health has dramatically declined over the last three years. Now able to get in and out of the home safely, Mr. Barners said he and his wife feel very blessed!
