The Mungo Homes Foundation, with the support of Mungo Homes and McGuinn Homes, broke ground this week on the second annual Michael’s House, a home built for charity in the Canary Woods community in Hopkins, SC. Proceeds will be matched by the Mungo Homes Foundation and donated to Homes for HOPE, a nonprofit that partners with the building industry to help families around the world overcome poverty.
Michael’s House honors the memory and legacy of company founder Michael J. Mungo, who started building homes in Columbia in 1954 and never stopped giving back to the communities that supported him.
The home, a Loblolly floor plan with five bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,334 square feet, will be the first Michael’s House built since McGuinn Homes joined the Mungo family earlier this summer. The home is expected to be completed and listed for sale later this year.
